The property, located on Hastings Avenue in Tynemouth, was typical for the immediate local area. The 1960’s style semi-detached home was ready for new ideas to bring the property up to date and fit the lifestyle of the owners.
What transpired was a complete refurbishment and alteration with rear extension, side extension and new porch, kitchen and utility room. Additional alterations were also made to the landing area and downstairs WC creating a seamlessly designed space for living and entertaining.
The rear extension required strong structural supports to create an expansive open-plan space desired by the client with sliding doors to create a real outside-in feel to the kitchen and dining area. With tiled floors and muted, neutral colours the kitchen area blends into the entertaining space for a light-filled area overlooking the garden through expansive sliding doors.
The side extension created additional living space within the home as well as modern bathrooms with contemporary lighting schemes. The finished home is a testament to quality construction and strong communication between site supervisor and the on site construction team.
This is a scheme that very much benefitted from clients with a strong sense of what the final space should look like to create complementary rooms within the home. Having planned and thought about what they wanted from their refurbishment for many years, they were able to enter the project having an idea of what they required from every element of the build.
