Monkseaton, Bungalow Conversion JD Joinery and Building Services transformed this coastal bungalow in Monkseaton to become a light, spacious home for a very happy client. The bungalow was essentially doubled in size, creating more multi-functional living space with a new kitchen, additional bathrooms, utility space, garage and loft extension with fully fitted en suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. The kitchen and dining area is a particular highlight of this property.
The use of bi-fold doors and sky lights elevate the space from functional interior room to become part of the garden with light flooding the room from all angles. Similarly, the loft conversion features extended sky lights from floor to ceiling to make the windows a design feature as well as a practical way of maximising light from the roof space. This is a scheme which truly elevated a bungalow from single story home into a modern and contemporary living space.
Mrs Usher, the client, had this to say about the project: “Joe Dixon enabled me to turn a small, dark, 1930’s bungalow into the beautifully light and spacious home I now live in. Embarking on such an ambitious project was quite daunting and certainly threw up some challenges along the way. However, Joe and his team were with me every step of the way. Joe always made himself available to speak to me and address any concerns I had with sensible solutions.
“I got to know many members of Joe’s team during the build and the immense respect they had for Joe was very apparent and were therefore committed to doing an excellent job.
“Joe would be my first choice for any future work and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable builder who produces high quality work.”
