Recently we have been instructed on a number of schemes along the North Tyneside coast. Tynemouth in particular has been full of activity as people look to extend and refurbish their homes in a location that has really grown in popularity in the past ten years. The mix of property styles is generally quite diverse, ranging from Victoria-era terraces to 1960/70’s style homes on good-sized plots all close to the beautiful seafront.
We have been lucky enough to be involved in some really exciting projects in this area, sharing one of our most recent schemes at Hastings Drive on the website just a few weeks ago.
This extension and refurbishment was also in Tynemouth, located on one of the most popular streets, The Broadway. The project was extensive – turning a semi-detached home into a five bedroom property with a rear and side extension featuring additional internal alterations.
One of the main advantages was the unusually large existing garage. The width (almost the width of the existing home) allowed for a large side extension encompassing new and expansive bedrooms and an extended ground floor rear kitchen and living space leading into the outdoor garden. The internal space was extensively renovated incorporating stylish new bathrooms and a modern kitchen from frequent collaborator Alexandra Interiors.
