Having previously constructed a large extension on their home in Gosforth (Newcastle upon Tyne), we were asked to complete an extension on Mr & Mrs Robson’s holiday home, in Bamburgh.
Having extensively refurbished and extended their property 5 years previously, Paul & Wendy were left with a property riddled with building defects and problems. The original builder went bust. The architect would not take responsibility and legal proceedings ensued, sadly, to no avail.
JD Joinery had worked with Paul & Wendy for a small number of years by this time. We were often asked to correct or improve works carried out at their primary home in Gosforth, and were informed of the escalating problems and legal woes ongoing with the Bamburgh property. In the end we were asked to help.
We rectified the original works, resolving all problems and further extended the property again. This was a mammoth task which was completed on an ‘open-book’ basis agreed with the client, and was necessary because of the severity and unknown limit of the building issues & problems we had to tackle.
Despite all of this, we were able to complete the works over the course of only 6 months, much to the clients delight. The result was a fantastic home that anyone would be proud to call their own.
