Joe Dixon

Managing Director

Joe Dixon set up JD Joinery and Building Services to create a different type of construction firm in the North East. He wanted the company to specialise in bespoke extensions of any size and create new build schemes with a clear focus on quality and design. To Joe, every project the team undertakes is just as important as the last and he takes enormous pride in providing a personal service to clients to deliver schemes that exceed expectations.

His personable manner and unrivalled work ethic has helped Joe guide his team to create a series of high quality projects, from smaller property extensions to unique larger extensions or conversions and new homes. His focus on green building techniques has brought the company opportunities to create energy efficient projects with one eye on the future of residential construction and design.

Paul Marshall

Senior Contracts Manager

Paul joined the JD Joinery and Building Services team in the summer of 2015 to help the firm build on its positive reputation for residential building work with new contracts in the commercial sector.

Paul has been working in construction for over 35 years and worked his way through the ranks as a joiner before moving into a more varied career in construction management for a number of regional firms.

Paul’s role at JD Joinery is typically varied. Whilst responsible for supplying detailed quotes for new schemes, he also manages multiple projects underway at any one time to maintain constant communication with clients and the site supervisor team.

Ken Ross

Financial Director

Ken brings a wealth of financial management and business strategy experience to the team at JD Joinery. A former financial director of both Peter Barratts Garden Centre and Akenside Developments, Ken was instrumental in helping Peter Barratts grow from a £2m turnover at the start of his 10 year tenure, to over £22m by the time the garden centre was sold on the private market.

The qualified accountant brings his strategic skills to JD Joinery and manages the full financial function along with developing the wider commercial division and future direction of the business.

Craig Whalen

Contracts Manager

Craig has over 15 years experience in the building and construction sector after graduating from university with a degree in architectural technology.  Following a period working in architectural design, he decided to put his technical and design expertise into practise on the other side of construction as a site-based project manager.  He now manages live schemes as a contract manager with JD Joinery and and supervises all aspects of a project, including subcontractors, on site labour and is the main liaison for clients.

Richard Adam

Contracts Manager

With over 40 years experience in the building trade, Richard is a key contact across active sites and oversees schemes as the day to day project management contact for clients. Richard is a joiner by trade and managed his own firm for 20 years before choosing to progress his project management career in construction with JD Joinery.

Cath Baker

Administrator

Cath runs the administrative function of JD Joinery, carrying out all office management operations along with the overseeing individual site administration including timesheets and invoicing.
